I am going to be having a photoshoot in UTC studio.
Where - UTC Sheffield Studio 2
When - Friday 4th March
Timings of Shoot - 11:00 - 12:40
How does it fit the brief? - We will be photographing models in a certain space, specialising in different angles and shot types, this links to the brief because it is 'Identity' and photographing people and their facial expressions can be seen as their identity.
Theme - I am photographing nature through city life and with some of the photographs their will be models helping make the link and express the contrast, if I photograph models in the shoot they may be good enough to use in my final pieces.
Equipment - For the equipment I will need an LSDR 750D camera, and any lighting and tripods
Shutter Speed - Can be quick because the lighting will be sufficient because of the internal lighting and any extra lighting that will be brought, and nothing will be moving so it will capture the photograph quickly and efficiently
Flash or No Flash - No Flash, with all the lighting it wont be needed
Landscape or Portrait - Whichever suits the photograph, a mix of both to get a mix
Narrative - Depending on the facial expressions and the mood of the model, it will create a different narrative
Permissions Models - I will have to get them to sign consent forms

LO2 Double Exposure Explanation

I have mentioned double exposure in this project a lot and that is because it is one of the main aspects in my project and therefore needs to be mentioned so the idea is reinforced. I have not mentioned yet whether I plan to use double exposure in terms of the actual act of taking photographs or Photoshop, I plan to combine the images using Photoshop editing. Firstly I will place the image that I need to subtly show over the other image using a clipping mask, I will then adjust the opacity of the top image to suit how much I want the image to show, then I will change the settings of the overlay to see if a certain effect produces the best finish e.g. Linear
LO2 Child and Data Protection
Child Protection
Child protection refers to protecting children from harms way such as; violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect. Related to this topic, they are specifically put in place for children being photographed, stating that the photographs will be safely stored, no names are mentioned and the children aren't dressed in inappropriate dress for their safety. The set of laws, policies and regulations span across all social sectors being; social welfare, education, health, security and justice. In terms to specifically for photography and companies it means avoiding using names, parental consent forms, child's permission, suitable dress, written guidelines, no photography at a child's home or outside of a set event, parents need to be present at all times during the photoshoot.
This doesn't apply to me in my photoshoot because I am not photographing children, I am using a model in some of my photographs but they are old enough and can give themselves consent.
Data Protection
The data protection act is a law designed to protect personal data (in this case specifically photography) stored on computers or in an organised filing system. Databases are easily accessed, searched and edit but by personnel only, if this data can be accessed by anyone then the business is not storing personal data safely. In terms of how it links to photography it means; any company storing information / photography must apply to the information commissioner, companies must declare what information will be stored and how it will be used, companies must declare who they will be sharing the information with, companies must explain how they intend to keep the information stored safely, companies must agree not to give away or sell the information, only use photographs for the agreed purpose or consent.
In terms of how this relates to my project I need to; if I am collecting information about the person I am photographing I need to tell them what it will be used for, how I will store it and how long I will keep it for. Store photographs away safely especially if they can be used to identify people as this will be classed as sensitive personal data. Also I need consent when taking photographs of a specific person as it is classed as data.
