LO4 Editing Photographs 3

In the first edit of this photograph I used the magnetic lasso tool to select around the models and the props vicinity.

After selecting the area around the model, I then went to the settings bar at the top and hovered over select and clicked on inverse, making the area surround the background of the image instead of the model.

I then deleted the background of the image leaving only the model. I did this because I want to place an image of a water landscape in the background over the existing background; to do this I had to make the model separate to its original background.

I then proceeded to add the landscape water background behind the model photograph, the contrast between the two is visually interesting. But it wont stay like this for long.

I then added back the background from the original photograph, with the landscape image over that. I then changed the opacity of the second image to 50% so both images are visible. I then changed the editing settings to subtract as it makes the background more subtle but still creates a noticeable effect.

I then cropped the image, so the empty space around the model wasn't there, it looked uneven having more empty space around the model on one side and not the other so I cropped one side and the top. I cropped the image to make it more fitting around the model and make the model as well as the prop the focal point.
I then used the metallic lasso tool to select the model again, I then changed the vibrancy and saturation of the image. I changed the vibrancy of the image to 90+ and the saturation to 10+. The vibrancy and the saturation settings make the model more vibrant and colourful, and also makes the rose more prominent in colour. This creates contrast next to the dark and white background.
